G-CAPS® Branding Announcement
CapsCanada® is pleased to announce the implementation of our registered trademark G-CAPS®.
When HPMC capsules first hit the main-stream supplement market in the mid 90’s, I was an encapsulation operator, running high speed Bosch filling equipment for a contract manufacturing company. We were an experienced group, running three shifts, and producing over a billion capsules annually. Our operation at the time was attuned to running gelatin capsules at maximum machine speeds, and aimed for the highest possible quality. I remember when our production manager brought in some new capsules for us to try, they were called “veggie” capsules. The capsules were plant-based, instead of the animal-based gelatin we were accustomed to using. Immediately noticeable upon inspection was the difference in appearance. We held them side-by-side next to gelatin capsules and the difference was night and day. Even when empty, veggie-caps did not have the crystal-clear, highly-polished look which gelatin capsules had; rather, they were cloudy and dull in appearance, and even had a rough exterior texture could be felt by hand, distinguishable with your eyes closed.
Empty hard gelatin capsules are provided as an excipient for the development and manufacturing of pharmaceutical products. Drug product manufacturers undertake alternative capsule source projects for a number of reasons, including but not limited to the following:
Given the circumstances of the COVID-19 pandemic, many U.S.-based pharmaceutical manufacturers are suddenly faced with a hard truth: They have a supply chain problem. Specifically, they’re realizing that their existing overseas gelatin capsule supplier may not be able to continue to provide reliable production and delivery.
DANIA BEACH, FL March 10, 2020—CapsCanada, a leading provider of empty capsules for use in the manufacture of pharmaceutical drugs and dietary supplements, announces that it has the production capacity and stock to both continue to meet demand from its existing customers and also help other manufacturers that are affected by supply chain disruptions caused by the Coronavirus outbreak.
At CapsCanada customers often tell us that the extensive support provided by our Technical Services Department provides a tremendous boost to their bottom line. How? By increasing their production yields and product quality. By eliminating the need for expensive inspections and rework, whether they use gelatin capsules or vegetarian capsules. By improving their employees’ skills, morale and retention. By providing money-saving repair services for their capsule filling machine. And by being there to do everything possible to get and keep the capsule filling process running smoothly. All at absolutely no extra cost.
